Comfortable and ok for a night or two

Lovely breakfast and comfortable rooms. Great and friendly staff at the restaurant.

Location is a little away from Negombo. Reception staff is lethargic at best and not very attentive. In general the resort caters to all-inclusive guests, including company outings etc.

Good resort for a family holiday.

Good location, comfortable rooms, helpful staff. The pool was great and being on the beach was a bonus. The hotel put on a great gala evening for NewYear.

It was a pity that there were big waves and an undercurrent so swimming in the sea was not possible. The food in the poolside bar was disappointing.

Beautiful property, but worn out. Pool is gorgeous, views are great, but location is far from Negombo restaurants and sh

Great view of the sea. Pool terrace Rooms were right on the poolside. Staff was very helpful and housekeeping was responsive. The buffet is above average, and the main pool bar has good drinks and service.

The beach is not suitable for swimming, the sand is rough and beach is uneven, deep in parts, shallow in parts. Also the waves are very rough. The beds and pillows felt damp and uncomfortable. The hotel is a little worn out. The spa treatments were average.

Beautiful property far from restaurants, therefore the meal plan has to be half/full board. Excellent for families with kids, the property has several pools and free entertainment.

Perfect getaway !

The check in was smooth the villa was spacious nice and clean got a large pool which we didn't get to use the food was nice and HK has done a good job as we requested occupied service and the villa has been nicely maintained by the engineering dep. so overall it was really nice and i did enjoy the stay

the buffet has to improve as pastries were not that upto standard, would like to see more spread on the buffet, the staff need to have the human touch as i notcied most of the staff are keen on talking to foreigners but not to locals as hoteliers staff should talk to both foreign and sri lankan guest too. when ordered room service and when i left the plate outside it was not cleaned till the next morning so few things to improve.

The room was so clean with the big bathroom with lovely view.

The property I don’t like the room we had so far away from the reception and there is no lift to go upstairs. The staff was in the hotel are not very helpful . I ask them can I get my breakfast in to the room because I not well to go to the restaurant. I payed for bed and breakfast when I stayed in the hotel. The person said to me they will charge for that I explain to him but at the end they charge me for the food .

Great holiday environmient with superb hospitality and friendly staff

The hospitality from the friendly staff was great. Also all features, the swimming pools and the bar were very good. We even played badminton with the "head chef"and did some sports as well.

Book here, you wont regret it!

Everything was great, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The facilities and especially the pool were fantastic. The breakfast had a huge variety of choices & coffee was good. We also stayed down the road in the Suriya hotel, this is 'more luxurious' supposedly and certainly a lot more expensive, we would definitely recommend the Dolphin over the Suriya!!

Cant think of anything specifically, the pool area can get a bit windy as it is right on the beach but we were there off season. Some activities eg. Snooker were extra if you weren't all inclusive which I dont think should be the case.

The pool , the pool bar and all the other facilities and the staff except the front office. I need to mention that food is super tasty and had a great variety ????.

The front office management was very poor specially at the checking. I had a bad time with them. Yes I know it's was a very busy time but I then again they shouldn't be giving excuses that we have to do all because it's not the customers concern. They need to prepare for the worst and the Frist impression is the most important for customer at the welcome. I was annoyed and it actually ruined my entire evening. Please look into this and train your front office staff accordingly.

Great family hotel

We enjoyed 8 nights at the Dolphin, I was staying with my 7 and 4 year old sons. We had a fabulous ground floor, poolside bedroom. Positives: -fantastic pool, esp for kids -lovely helpful attentive staff -excellent breakfast buffet and coffee -good value ‘extras’ such as bar drinks and room service -lots of activities to chose from -well equipped gym -things generally at a good standard of maintenance and quality -really comfortable beds, had a great sleep every night (until sunrise...see ‘crows’ below). The rooms in general were large, lots of storage, clean and had nice furnishings. -free bottled water/water cooler -plenty of sun loungers/pool towels -beach on the doorstep -fast WiFi, generally connected

-crows and ants! Crows on the trees outside the bedrooms are plentiful, loud and non stop. I know there’s not a lot that can be done about it but they will wake you up early. Ants find themselves in the ground floor room easily. -WiFi goes down when the weather is bad...again, I’m sure this isn’t something that can be helped. There were also leaks in my family’s other room after heavy rainfall. However I saw for myself how hard the staff work to get everything back up and running. -it is a little further out from Negombo...20-25 tuk tuk or taxi journey. -I’m being picky now: the ground outside the patio doors to the room is a little muddy and with kids in and out of the pool into the room, it’s hard to keep the room clean.

We were there for 2 nights, on the second day we came back...

We were there for 2 nights, on the second day we came back to our room after breakfast and found out that our key card doesn't work. We went to the reception to inquire and we found out that they have checked us out. Without apologising and giving us the access key they relocated us to another room. Food was tasteless thought our stay.
